Let's Talk

The only thing BHO's Resident Astronomer likes to do as much as gaze at the stars is to talk about them. So it's not unusual to find John talking at schools, scout gatherings and nature clubs as well as to the general public.

John has prepared presentations on general astronomy, the Moon, the solar system as well as more detailed dsicussions on star birth/death and how stars recycle themselves.

Whether helping a troop of scouts earn their astronomy badge, guiding a grade 6 class through the solar system or talking to a gathering of the general public on the basics of stargazing, John keeps things light, informative and just plain fun.

John's presentations are accompanied by a telescope session if the weather cooperates. For daytime shows, he uses a special solar filter that blocks out 99.9% of the harmful UV rays for a safe view of our star - the Sun. And, in the evening, the solar filter comes off and John turns the telescope to the stars.

On nights when the Moon is big and bright, John visits different resorts in the area to give guests a chance to get up close and personal with the Moon as well as any planets that might be visible at the time.

Give John a call and tell him what you'd like to hear. He'll come up with a talk that meets your needs, your group's experience level and a price that fits your budget.

Please call 705-657-2544 to book a presentation for your group.
