John Crossen operates the Buckhorn Observatory. The Observatory is open most clear nights and John also makes presentations to students in local schools as well as community groups.

John is Past President of the Peterborough Astronomical Association and is currently the Canadian representative for Portable Planetariums as well as a member of the Canadian Science Writer's Association. His informative columns appear in The Lakefield Herald, The Promoter and Kawartha Life Magazine.
