THE NIGHT TIME IS THE RIGHT TIME

During the summer the Sun doesn't set until around 10:00 in the evening, so BHO doesn't open until then. During the winter, darkness comes early, so we open at 7:00 p.m. On nights when the bright Moon washes out the stars, we feature "Moon Tours."

WARM IS ALWAYS IN STYLE.

We suggest that you bring a jacket or long-sleeved shirt and long pants when you visit the Observatory, even in the summer. Bug spray is also a good idea. Winter observing calls for a parka, toque, and big, warm boots and mitts. We do have a heated warm-up room, but it has limited access.

TELESCOPES CAN'T SEE THROUGH CLOUDS.

We are very weather dependent -- so we strongly suggest that you make a sky check with the Observatory 30 minutes before you depart for BHO.
